Honoring a legend

Saturday we received news of the passing of Bruce Rodabaugh. Bruce has been a valued part of our team for the past 2 years. His passing was a shock and we are all dealing with it in our own ways. Any other information will be passed on as we receive it.

Bruce leaves behind his wife and two children, along with countless lives he touched throughout his fitness career. As we remember him, we want to share a bit about the remarkable person who meant so much to our community.

Bruce's fitness journey was one of constant evolution and growth. Starting as a powerlifter, he competed for six years before a hernia changed his perspective on training. Rather than let this setback define him, Bruce transformed it into wisdom he would later share with his clients: that achieving your fitness goals doesn't always mean pushing to extremes. "Lift a lighter weight, get the look you want" became part of his training philosophy.

His personal growth extended beyond the physical. He conquered his stage fright by becoming a competitive bodybuilder. This transformation spoke to his character - he understood that real strength isn't just about lifting weights, but about overcoming personal challenges.

Since beginning his career as a personal trainer right out of high school, Bruce worked with clients ranging from high school students to 71-year-olds, adapting his approach to meet each person's unique needs. His ability to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds made him not just a trainer, but a trusted mentor and friend.

Bruce embodied the values we hold dear at West Coast Fitness - dedication, personal growth, and genuine care for others. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he improved through his work.

Our hearts go out to Bruce's family during this difficult time. He will be deeply missed by our entire fitness community.

Hold your loved ones close,

Your West Coast Fitness Family
