7+ Years of Healing in 7 Months, Nino's Incredible Story

Today, we want to introduce you to an incredible member of our community who embodies the transformative power of resilience, dedication, and holistic wellness.

Meet Nino - a fourth-generation military veteran whose journey from broken down to bouncing back will leave you both humbled and inspired.

From Skate Park to Combat: Nino's story began on the streets, where he found himself homeless and living in a skate park. But his life took a dramatic turn when he enlisted as a combat medic from 2009-2013; as a paratrooper in an airborne combat team, Nino was treated like a piece of equipment, with his value being determined by how much he could endure.

The Struggle to Self-Care: Despite dedicating himself to caring for others, Nino never learned the crucial skills of self-care. After his service, he pursued work as a paramedic but continued to struggle with his own physical and mental health. The toll of his experiences left him with a traumatic brain injury forcing him to wear an eyepatch to manage his double vision, and compromised balance and gait from his body being fused into a crooked position.

A Turning Point: Determined to reclaim his life, Nino knew he needed support and invested in a Personal Trainer. Here, he found not only the accountability and training he needed but also a supportive community that welcomed him with open arms.

Through consistent work with his trainer Coltin and a commitment to our world-class recovery modalities (Red Light Therapy, PEMF, and Vibragenix), Within months, Nino began to see changes in his body and mind that he hadn't experienced in 7+ years at the VA. For the first time, he was healing damaged nerves, waking up without pain, excited to work out.

Charging the Human Battery: Nino describes the profound impact of our recovery techniques, likening the human body to a "water battery" that can be recharged and rejuvenated. With regular PEMF sessions and Red Light Therapy, he's noticed increased circulation, reduced pain, and a palpable sense of healing in areas long damaged by trauma.

Building Hope for Veterans: Inspired by his own transformative journey, Nino has channeled his passion into founding a nonprofit with his former trainer, Taylor. Their mission? To create transitional housing and resources for veterans, ensuring that no one feels as lost as Nino did when reintegrating into civilian life.

The Power of Community: Through it all, Nino credits the West Coast Fitness community for being instrumental in his success. From the trainers and group instructors who guided his fitness journey to the fellow members who cheer him on, he's found a sense of belonging and purpose that fuels his ongoing growth.

Nino's story is a powerful reminder that no matter how beaten we may feel, there's always an opportunity for redemption and reinvention. With the right support, tools, and mindset, we all have the capacity to heal, thrive, and pay it forward.

Here's to you, Nino, and all the warriors out there fighting for their second chance. We're honored to be part of your journey.

Stronger together,
Your West Coast Fitness Family
